Hello World! For years and years I have wanted to go vegan. I think your mind, body, and soul will run better without a graveyard in your stomach. For the record-I love cheeseburgers. As well as pizza-pepperoni to be exact-with extra cheese. And don't get me started on bacon-it makes EVERYTHING taste better. But from an ethical point of view-why should something die/suffer for me to live? I don't see that as the circle of life. I see it as laziness, lack of self-control, and ignorance. And my favorite beer-guinness. Yum. Irish car bombs-double yum. What most people may not know is that many imported beers contain isinglass. Isinglass is the lining of fish bladders and is a form of collagen used in various wines and beers. Not very vegan. Anyways.........my point is-this is not going to be easy. I do love fruits and veggies of course-otherwise this would not be possible-I just have to discipline myself. I thought blogging my experience along the way might help. And when I falter-I'll let you know. Sometimes it might be an accident due to lack of knowledge, sometimes I may just really want a guinness-regardless-I'm going to keep trying.
So......let's get started.
I have some books:
Vegan With A Venegence
Skinny Bitch
PETA's Vegan College Cookbook
Skinny Bitch in the Kitchen
And of course the internet, where would we be without it?
These are my favorites so far:
www.ezhealthydiet.com
and a fellow blogger
http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/
I'll be trying out recipes from all of these sites and letting you know about them----and eventually I'll start creating my own. In due time I'll probably figure out how to create my own layout as well-baby steps, baby steps, baby steps.
